In October, I became aware of the proposal for an illegal-drug injection site for downtown Barrie. Upon seeing this application, as well as a proposed location, it appeared that the proposal was being put forward without proper consultation of our community.

Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation is fast approaching. The previous Conservative government put significant funding and work into plans for Canada’s 150th birthday. However, in 2016, the Liberal government cancelled the commemorative medal for the 150th Anniversary of Confederation.
March 22 marked the unveiling of the 2017 federal budget. This budget is consistent with what we expected: more reckless spending, no results and higher taxes. There is nothing new or innovative found within the budget as well. In fact, many of the programs are recycled and repackaged Conservative programs.

The Oct. 19 federal election felt like one in a generation. At times, the ideas and concepts of the Liberal Party took the imagination of even the Conservative candidate in Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte. The problem is that the Liberal government has failed to deliver on those ideas and concepts promised to Canadians.
